Lately...

Things around here lately...

I have been decorating for Christmas.

I should probably get to Christmas shopping now...

Last weekend I went to Gatlinburg TN to meet up with the family for the weekend.

Little J, in the hotel lobby ready for a day in Gatlingburg.

Dad and I enjoyed the moonshine shop.

We ate lots of good food.

The only thing that makes sweet tea better is when it is in a Mason jar.

Dad took us shopping.

Mama C asked if they called them the Smoky Mountains because of the Smoke that comes out of them.  Yep she's mine. :)

Yesterday I met up with Mama C, G and Little J for the 2 Friends & Junk craft show.  There were so many cute booths and I managed to find several cute things to buy.

One of the shirts I bought.

And Little J, took up a new hobby while we were there.

Adulthood.

Since I recently turned a year older and am halfway to full blown adulthood I thought I would do a post about being an "adult".

So I am "considered" an adult by most standards now.  In my younger years I could never wait to be an adult, have my own place, do my own thing, make my own money.

Well let me tell you something sweetheart, that shit isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Being an adult means things like....

Having bills and having to pay said bills.

You have to get a job, show up everyday and they expect you to stay the full day.

You have the choice to eat whatever you want which sounds great but in the end just leads to another 15 lbs.

You may have your own place but that also means you have to pay for it and clean it.

And sometimes while cleaning said place your vacuum cleaning may start smelling like burnt rubber and you may have to turn to facebook for some quick advice from all the buffoons that troll that space looking for their moment to give advice about life or vacuums.

It is frowned upon when you spend all your money on "stupid" things and the parents have to pay your bills.

The moment I knew or something like it...

The Holiday Season is here, I love it and everything about it.

Which got me to thinking about how great life was when I believed in Santa and when I started to realize my whole life had been a lie.

Christmas was so much more exciting thinking when I went to sleep Christmas Eve some fat man in a red suit would be sneaking into my home to leave me all the great stuff I had asked for that year.

One of the last years I remember believing/starting to become skeptical about ole St. Nick was a year when the news had shown where some kid found an elf shoe in the field near his grandma's house and what do you know my grandma knew that kids grandma, which totally sealed the deal on the story being true.

Everytime I asked Grandma to call her friend up and see if she would bring that elf shoe over "something" came up.  This is when things starting getting sketchy but I was a true and loyal believer and still left out the cookies and left Santa a note asking about the elf that lost the shoe and went to bed early Christmas Eve so Santa could come.

A few weeks later I came across some pictures we had developed.  Yes back in the day you had to get your film developed in order to see the pictures taken on your camera. Crazy I know.  We made it through those rough times.  Anyway in those pictures I came across the sight that would ruin it for me, a picture of MAMA C writing the note left by "Santa" and what do you know she was having some of Santa's cookies as well.

I would never be the same after that kids.
