Feels like home to me...

I'm pretty sure after watching the Healing in the Heartland concert I'm going to need to shave my legs again.  I don't know how many of you are watching, but I have had goose bumps the whole time.  Makes me even prouder to be from such an awesome state after seeing so many people coming together to help those in time of need.

It's Sunday Social time...

Sunday Social

Hey y'all!

I'm back for Sunday Social.

1. What is your best summer memory as a kid?
Hmm I can't choose just one...Summers as a kid always seemed to last forever and were so much fun.  I always spent the summers with my cousins, swimming, taking trips, playing outside all day.

2. What is your favorite summer drink?
Sangria with fresh fruit.

3. What is your favorite summer TV show?
Currently I don't catch many shows when they are on but I have been watching Hart of Dixie and 90210 on Netflix lately.

4. What is the best outdoor summer activity?
Laying out by the pool of course.

5. What are your summer vacation essentials?
If I am going to need to pack more than a swimsuit I don't think I wanna go.  JK well kinda.  Other essentials would be sunglasses, lip balm, and my kindle fire.

Getting Graphic Here...

Let's talk resume's.  I find them to be a pain.  I never know what to include, what not to include, how plain or how creative I should get with it.  I know resume's can be the determining factor in whether or not you get an interview.

I am starting to job search again but I need to redo my resume' and want to have one I won't be embarrassed to submit to potential employers.

Of course I referred back to the lovely Pinterest because I just knew I had a pin for that.  I have pinned this pin before because I loved the look of this resume'.  This blog also  references some other sites with great resume' designs to see.

What do y'all think about getting creative with your resume'?  Is it something you should keep simple and plain or dress up a bit?

Please share any resume' or job search tips you may have.

While we on the the topic of learning new things and do and don'ts....have y'all ever rented your college books?  I have posted about this before but unfortunately I'm old and no longer in school so I don't need college books but I know how expensive they are and wish I had known about this site then. You can rent out your textbooks through this site with their new program called Rent Back. Why not? Sounds like easy money to me.
If any one has tried it or ends up trying it let me know what you think.

Home.

My heart breaks today seeing all the updates on my facebook news feed and the news coverage from the devastating tornados  Oklahoma has been hit with the past two days.  I am also feeling blessed.

Sunday morning Mama C texted me telling me I better start home from OKC early because we were suppose to be getting bad weather and possible tornados.  My first reaction was of course rolling my eyes because I am in my twenties and my mother is still telling me when to be home and because I thought she was over reacting.

Well Mama C was right but don't tell her I told you because by the time I made it home 2 1/2 hours later the bad weather was starting where I had just been.  The first night of bad weather, one of my little's hometown, was hit with a tornado and many homes were destroyed including her car.  Thankfully she was just fine.  Just scary thinking it was only an hour away from where I had been and so close to where most of my friends live.

Today Oklahoma was hit again by tornados one of those being an EF-4, the second most powerful type of twister it was reported as being at least half a mile wide. Scary.  The city majority of my friends and sorority sisters live in was hit hard.  I believe the current count is 51 dead and the death toll expecting to rise, two elementary schools wiped out and numerous homes and businesses gone.  Parents are still searching for their children.  It is heart breaking.

I was lucky to hear none of my friends or family were hurt.  There were tornados all around us but the closest tornado to me was 10 mins away.  Thankfully we missed them so far.

Tonight hug your loved ones a little tighter and say a prayer for my home state.

God Bless Y'all!

I have never been so miserable...well half true.

Remember me?  Yeah I just lost my blogging mojo for a while maybe it's coming back maybe not?

I spent the weekend visiting my bestie and all my favorite people this  past weekend.  This weekend was also that 5k I signed up for a few months ago.  Yeah well the 5k didn't happen, you see sometimes I forget I'm no longer 21 and I can't handle staying up all night and then functioning the next day.  Then Sunday was depressing because I had to leave my friends and head back to reality 3 hours away.
Which leads me to this list...

Why post grad sucks...

-You have to get a job. (well maybe don't have to but you should or you are now called a bum.)
-All your friends move off in different directions to try to join the big kid world as well.
-It isn't as accptable to dress in Norts and an oversized tee everyday.
-You can't just sleep in when you feel like skipping class work and get the notes from a coworker.
-You can't use being in College as an excuse to eat junk for all meals, you are now just an unhealthy eater.
-Forget naps, going from two naps a day to none is rough.
-You actually have to go to the grocery store and buy food, you can't just run next door and go shopping in the sorority pantry.
-There are no date parties or coke dates.
-Work doesn't just get cancelled.
-Your parents don't pay your bills as easily anymore.
-Parents expect you to buy yourself stuff. (rude)
-When you are around college boys you feel like a pedofile.
-You get tired earlier.
-An exciting night is when you get to stay home and do nothing.

So pretty much post grad life is hard.

Hi my name is Sydney and I'm a shopaholic.....

You know that moment when the heaven's open up and you hear a little angel whisper in your ear "TAKE ME HOME!" "BUY ME".

You don't?  Oh well I do.

A LOT.

Especially when I am browsing around the web something comes over me and next thing I know the package fairy has left another box at my door step and of course all I know when Mama C asks where I got said dress, random accessory or pair of shoes is "I found it on the front porch!"

I blame the blogging world!

Okay maybe not, maybe just a small blame goes to the blogging world because without it I probably wouldn't know about most of the places I constantly browse online and make said "unnecessary"purchases.  Cue bauble necklaces, chevron dresses in every color ect...

What else do I blame on Blog World?

The need to take pictures of the most random things for the blog of course!

When you reference something in every day conversation along the lines of well "So & So Blog says"....

My addiction to Instagram.

I'm sure there are plenty more.

Speaking of spending money, have y'all heard of CampusBookRentals.com?

I haven't actually purchased anything through this site but right now they have a summer rental sale going on, all summer rentals are $29.00. And they have FREE shipping, I'm a sucker for free shipping. I wish my books for classes had been that cheap!  They also have a new program for renting books called RentBack.  You can make money by renting out your books.
If you are taking any summer classes or know anyone that is check out this site for books.

All the single ladies...

Listen ladies let's be honest here some of us single girls sometimes wonder hmm why am I single?

If that is you wondering why you haven't been scooped up yet maybe you should read on.

Let me tell you.  Actually I will just tell you why you might be anyway because I guess not all of us single ladies are delusional.

If you are always updating your Twitter or facebook status with things along the lines of "If only I had someone to take me on a date tonight and wasn't so alone..."  or  "Everyone has someone but me. #soalone #single4ever"

STOP okay more than likely if someone is following you through a form of social media you can probably bet there is a good chance they know if you are single or not there is no need to throw yourself out there sounding as desperate as possible.  That is not attractive.

Posting constant selfies posing duck lip style on instagram every single day.  Believe it or not I don't think this is bringing all the boys to your yard.  You may think you look sexy with duck lips but you could be wrong.

Your obsession with your ex.  Maybe it is about time to stop wearing that t-shirt with his picture on it everyday and sobbing at any mention of his name.

You can be quoted saying something along the lines of "I hate guys." "All men are jerks." on the daily.
Do you now? Are they ALL really?  Probably not but whatever reels them in huh?  How is that working out for you...don't worry I'll wait.

You are NEVER getting married.  I know a good amount of the time most people's first instinct is defensiveness but lets get real if you are known as the person who NEVER wants to get married what makes you think someone wants to start you a relationship with you?

And before you get all well look who is Miss Judgy McJudgerson these are just some observations, besides it's my blog and I can criticize who I want.  I am pretty aware of reasons why I am probably single and I can honestly say I don't think any of the above are it or maybe I just need to re-evaluate my life.  Let's hope not.

Single is the new Married right?

Where have I been?

Is it really already Thursday and I haven't blogged once this week?
I seriously did plan on getting it together and blogging more this week and we see how that turned out.
Kinda like I really planned on finding an awesome job and moving someplace fun after graduation instead of back home with my parents.  I am seeing a pattern here and not liking it so much.

Anyway as I may have mention my sister G got married Saturday.  Everything for the wedding was very simple little planning went into it and G was laid back about everything things were going very smoothly.
(Baby Girl and I at rehearsal)

Thursday evening we had the rehearsal for wedding, it was quick and to the point and we just needed to show up Saturday....until about 10 minutes after we left the location G got a call from the place she had booked for the wedding.  The lady told her there was some mix up because she had somehow scheduled G's wedding the same time as another wedding.

Panic mode.

Originally G wanted to have the wedding in the evening but they told her they didn't have an open time since the wedding location was booked only about 2 months in advance.  (G is last minute person)  They told her the wedding would have to be moved back a couple of hours and instead of the wedding being at 1:30 it would be at 7:00.  The only problem would be the invites of course had already been sent out and it was only 2 days before the big day everything else was easily changed.

Thankfully they were keeping things small anyway so it was easy to get the word around in time for Saturday and actually ended up working out better with the time change.

By the end of the ordeal the wedding turned out great and G was happy it turned out the way it did.

More pictures from the day.....

Baby Girl loved G's dress and pulled her around all night.

To avoid any wedding day stress I think Vegas sounds pretty appealing, first I guess I need to get a man friend though.
