I'm a Jerk.

It's true. I'm a jerk.

I missed my own Blogiversary.

(G and I  waaayyyy back in the day.)

Back in the day (one year ago), which happened to be a Wednesday, March 21st my sister G and I started occupying this space on the interwebz, just writing about random things in life.  This was when G actually carried her weight and I didn't have to kick her off my blog to start her own.

What do you know a year later I am still here.  Who says I can't commit to anything?

A year ago I had zero followers, I didn't know anyone with a blog or even really how it worked, my mom wasn't even following me.

I hate to be that person that says "people told me to start a blog so I did"  because then you are thinking "oh girl shut up no one said for you to start a blog", but a few did so I thought about it for a long time and when I graduated college, had no life and didn't have shat else to do it happened and I am so glad I did.

I love this little blog and have met so many great people through blogging.  I have learned so much over the past year, yet I still feel like a new blogger most of the time.

I guess I can now consider myself a blogger. Right?  Should I have like business cards or something made? Quit my job to blog?

After all I do have a fancy camera.  (So what if I have never used it to take pictures for the blog.)

I own several bauble necklaces and a chevron dress.

I love Target. (I still have never one a giftcard through a giveaway though.)

I finally bought a MacBook.

Don't all those things make me an official blogger now?

Except for one little thing....the Mormon's still haven't contacted me about being inducted into the secret blogging circle.  I'm sure they just got my URL wrong or my email wasn't linked correctly.

Most of all though Thank You to all my readers without you I would just be talking to myself all the time.  Maybe that is still kinda true, but never mind.

If you have never commented do so and leave me your blog URL I would love to visit. :)

The effects of Taco Bell...

I don't know where I have been all week, but it hasn't been around here.  Things have been busy at work and the last thing I want to do when I get home is look at a computer, so sorry for the neglect kids.

I wasn't planning on posting about this, but I was putting together my before and after pictures from before I took ACE and now.  WOW! I knew I had packed on the pounds but lets just be honest I got FAT.  I was at my biggest when I graduated college.

I have only shared this picture with a my mom, sister and two close friends so far so this is big for me! No pun intended.  The effects of my before picture are due to too much Taco Bell and fast food and zero exercise.  The after is all ACE babyyyyy.

(I know what you're thinking doesn't that girl have any other pictures other than that one in the chevron dress. Well yes I do but not on my phone so deal with it. )

In the Before picture I had not had any recent dental work or been competing in a chubby bunny marshmallow competition those cheeks are all natural.

I still have plenty more to lose but I am seeing results and my energy is better than ever now that I have been taking ACE.

Sunday Reads

One of my favorite things to do on Sunday afternoons when it is cold or rainy is read.  Yes I just sounded like a grandma.  I have been trying to get back into reading more lately.  I have always enjoyed reading as long it is something that interests me.  I do read the popular at the moment books like Twilight, Hunger Games and Fifty Shades of Gray and usually love them.  Some of my favorite books are by Sophie Kinsella and Emily Giffin.

As much as I love a real book I have really come to love reading ebooks on my Kindle Fire.   I can carry with me as many books as I want all in one place which is great because I am one of those people who tend to try to read more than one book at once.

Another perk of the Kindle is that Amazon has a free lending library for Amazon Prime members where you can check out 1 free book a month.  I signed up as a Prime member because I am an Amazon addict, I buy so much from Amazon and if you are a Prime member you get FREE 2 day shipping.  I am a sucker for free shipping.  I hate paying shipping.  I do wish Amazon had a rewards program though because I make so many purchases through them.

Anyway just thought I would share some good books I have read recently.

Beautiful Disaster was a great book, I actually heard about this book through another blog and it did not disappoint.  I have already preordered the second book.    Just click the title to get the description.

Easy was a suggestion on Good Reads.  This one sucked me in as well.  Both books were set in college, maybe that is why I loved it.

Girls in White Dresses was a book I had been meaning to read for a while, it had been suggested on several blogs.  I liked this book but I didn't love it.  It wasn't bad I just felt like when it ended it was like okay thats it?

What are you're favorite books?  I am always looking for new suggestions.

Coming out from under my stupid rock....

So I guess I have been living under a stupid rock because when I want to read the blogs I follow I just sign into blogger and read from Dashboard.  Have I been doing this whole Blogger buisness wrong?

I read about people talking about google reader.  I tried that once and after five minutes I was like let's go!  It was over my head.

Now I am getting interested because I hear you can organize your blogs into categories?  I love some good organization.

Here goes nothing I am going to try this all out.
Just you know following the blog lovin trend....don't say no. Just do it.
Any help about all this is welcomed with open arms! Unless you aren't the hugging type then it is just welcomed.!

I'm from the Ghetto Homie....

Okay maybe I'm not from the ghetto but my old laptop looks like it belongs in the ghetto.

These pictures actually made it look better than it does in person.  Notice the enter key is missing, Baby Girl decided to pull that one off, but the main damage is the screen.  The screen was already loose from multiple drops and from lifting it up by the screen, and one fateful day a month or two ago the big drop happened, on my foot.  Some plastic and other pieces broke off just leaving the screen hanging by the cords.  Fun huh?  Well good ole Dell kept kicking.

I am really surprised my trusty old Dell hasn't bit the dust yet.  It has come close to the brink of death a time or two and has been brought back.  The last time I got Dell fixed when it came back it no longer recognized the CD Rom drive thingy mabopper.  (No I don't know the tech lingo pardon me.)  I am a lover of CD's especially a good burnt mix, I keep all 7 CD slots full in my car and well it no longer would burn my jams.

I know you are thinking who is this girl? Is she still stuck in 1999?  Yeah I still carry around a Discman too.  Kidding.  I just love Cd's okay!

(Insert picture of a Discman because I don't know how to save pictures from Google yet)

Any who my beloved Dell would no longer let me install things like all my Adobe software with photoshop, Illustrator and ect.  Which might not have been too much of a problem since I hardly paid attention in class anyway and don't remember too much about how I even got my degree.  I just had this laptop that I could use to blog.  I know what else would one use a laptop for?  But this girl still has to find her, her big time paying job and when the Dell doesn't even have word there is a problem.

I finally bit the bullet and purchased a Macbook Pro.  I LOVE it!  Not that I had any doubt that I would.  I like to play around with design and things along those lines so I figured I needed something more than just a blogging machine or I might have just gone with another Dell.

Although you won't find THE blogger picture on here.  You know the know one with the Macbook set up at the local doesn't support the troops Starbs blogging away.  Instead I will just share my new gem straight out of the box.

Can't fight that feeling...

I have always loved auctions.

The thrill of bidding and that sweet moment when the auctioneer looks deep into your eyes and yells HAA!
You have conquered, you have won. Time to collect your winnings.

When I go to an auction I can't help but shoot my arm into the air when the auctioneer starts rambling off....."can I get 5, 10, blah blah, 25, 1000, fat lady sings, 2500..."  I may not actually want what I am
bidding on but I don't want anyone else to have it either.

I'm not myself something comes over me and I just can't stop.

Let's just say my parents don't like me going to auctions anymore.

Once I spent $400 to buy my best friend at our FFA auction and the last auction I went to was a livestock auction and I ended up buying 6 show calves.  I couldn't help it I just wanted them all until it was time to wake up early and feed them in the cold.

Well apparently I am not the only one in the family who inherited this...last night Mama C sent a blank check with Huey to the FFA Slave Auction.

Our local FFA holds this auction every year as their big fundraiser and all the students get auctioned off and have to work so many hours for whoever buys them.  Most of the time they don't end up having to work, I never did it is just something for fun and to raise money.
My parents stopped going once my brother and I had graduated high school.  Huey trying to be a good alumni returned this year.
Mama claims she told him he could just spend $100 on each person he bid on well he didn't quite hear that part.
Huey instead spent over $1000.00.  Mama C wasn't too happy at first then she found humor in the situation somehow even though I think he should have to do whatever I say to work off his dues.

Anyways the good news is in two weeks I have lost 7lbs just from taking ACE! Now I know if I can make myself go to the gym every week it will work even better I just may be ready for bikini season when it gets here.

Party like it's 1999... or 2008.

My week wouldn't be complete without linking up at least once.
Today we are throwing it all the way back to Sophomore year of college.  One of my favorite chapters of my life.
I had the same best friend as now Lulu.
Revenge of the Nerds date Party.

One of my other Besties joined Phi Mu.

I actually went to football games early. Weird, I know.

Mag's was my suitemate.

I played intramural soccer and have no explaination for the Urkel pose.

I hung out at Walmart on snow days.

White Liar...

Okay so I'm just a big fat liar.  You know how yesterday I posted that I was joining the Revolt team? Well I lied, not intentionally anyway.

It sounded like a good opportunity and I really did want to try it out but I didn't get my log in information until yesterday morning.  I wasn't able to do my meal prep this weekend and that meant I wasn't able to participate in day 1 with the rest of the bloggers.  I wasn't sure when I would be able to make all this happen and it just started to really stress me out.

I try to avoid getting myself stressed out at all costs because let me tell you it isn't pretty when I have a melt down.

I'm sure this makes me sound flaky and like a quitter especially after my military diet fail. haha I swear I don't always quit at things but let's be honest when it comes to any type of diet or exercise plan there is a pretty good chance it isn't going to last long for me.  It always sounds like a good idea but then turns out not happening.  I guess I should stop spending so much time in the fitness category on Pinterest.

I may try the one coming up in April though since I will have way more time to prepare.  If anyone wants to try it too let me know!

Ooops I did it again...

I did it again  I jumped into something I am not sure I am ready for...

I signed up to be a Revolt blogger.

Do you know what that means?  I have agreed to a 12 week fitness plan.  I know, I don't what I was thinking either.  I guess the desire to not look like a busted can of biscuits in a swimsuit came over me and now I am awaiting my confirmation email so I can see how I will be starving myself for the next 12 weeks.

Thankfully ACE just might be my saving grace here since it helps me not be hungry.

I will admit though I am kinda nervous especially since I will be doing a post once a week about the program,  usually when I am trying something out and I am not sure if I will succeed I don't like to tell anyone because that puts the pressure on.  And told people I just did.

If anyone is interested in trying this program out with me let me know and I will send you the contact information to become a Revolt Blogger.  Don't say no, just do it with me okay! Pretty Please :)
